Please check here or at anabin to see whether you can be admitted directly to university with your educational qualifications. If you cannot be admitted directly to university, you will probably need to complete a preparatory year, such as a Studienkolleg.
Our federal state of Brandenburg does not offer a Studienkolleg. Instead, there is a similar option called Study Preparation Brandenburg = Studienvorbereitung Brandenburg (SVB), which takes place at the nearby University of Potsdam for various universities in our federal state.
The SVB final exam is only valid for admission to one of the universities in the federal state of Brandenburg. Please apply via uni-assist by 15 July for the degree programme that you wish to study at THB after completing the SVB.
If any documents are missing, we will make our decision in accordance with the Resolution of the Kultusministerkonferenz (Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany) dated 03-12-2015.
Please feel free to consult Ms Meyer before applying.
Refugees who are recognised may be entitled to receive financial support under the BAföG (German Federal Training Assistance Act), irrespective of how long they have already been in Germany.
The same applies for “tolerated” refugees if they have already been residing in Germany for at least 15 months starting from the date they originally applied for asylum in Germany.
This does not apply to the preparatory German course at our university or to the Studienvorbereitung Brandenburg (SVB).
If you are enrolled at THB, the semester ticket is included in the CampusCard, i.e. you receive the ticket automatically.
Every semester, we offer the preparatory German intensive course DeutschPlus, which leads from B2 to C1/DSH2 level.
